Cost Optimization Tips

Monitor Your Spending:

  1. Check Request Logs to see per-request costs
  2. Identify expensive models being used
  3. Consider cheaper alternatives for simpler tasks

Use Model Tiers:

  • GPT-3.5 Turbo: Fast and cheap for simple tasks
  • GPT-4: More expensive, use for complex reasoning
  • Claude: Good balance of capability and cost

Set API Key Limits:

  • Prevent runaway costs with monthly limits
  • Set different limits for dev vs production keys
  • Receive alerts when approaching limits

Billing Model

Prepaid System

Aize Platform uses a prepaid billing model:

  1. Deposit First: Add funds to wallet before usage
  2. Pay Per Use: Charged only for actual API calls
  3. Immediate Deduction: Cost deducted after each request
  4. No Minimums: Use as little or as much as needed
  5. No Expiration: Funds never expire

How Costs Are Calculated

Each API request cost includes:

Total Cost = (Base Provider Cost × Markup) + Fixed Fee

Example:

  • Provider cost (OpenAI): $0.10
  • Markup (25%): $0.025
  • Fixed fee: $0.01
  • Your cost: $0.135

Costs vary by:

  • Model: GPT-4 > GPT-3.5 > others
  • Tokens: More tokens = higher cost
  • Input vs Output: Output tokens typically cost more

Transparent Pricing

View exact costs for each request:

  1. Go to Request Logs
  2. See breakdown:
    • Provider cost (what we pay)
    • Customer cost (what you pay)
    • Our markup (transparent)
    • Input/output token breakdown

Unfreezing Process

Automatic Unfreeze:

  1. Make a deposit (minimum $10)
